I've got more than 15 years of experience in different IT positions. I've been System Administrator, Technical Account Manager, DBA, Consultant, Support Manager, Support Engineer and Technical Trainer providing services for very different kind of customers. For example banks, governments, startups, social networks, retailers, television channels, videogame companies and so on.
During these years I've had the opportunity to work in many projects of different sizes, using a large range of services and technologies. But one day I decided to concentrate all my efforts in one single field: databases.
Thanks to that decision now I work as Technical Services Engineer in the Core Team of MongoDB. My plan worked! Databases are my main field nowadays.
I live in Dublin (Ireland). I moved here pursuing new career opportunities and challenges after 6 years working remotely for Percona. Everybody warned me about the weather but it is not that bad!
Enough talking about work! What I do in my free time? When I get some vacation days I buy a flight ticket to some far away country to dive in the ocean. Following sharks, manta rays and whales around the world is my way to escape from the day to day routine. Electronic music festivals (I'm looking at you Tomorrowland), Trance music, Videogames, American TV Series and Sports are other ways I have to spend time. If I can mix them with beer, even better.

Managed workflow and processes. Improved quality assurance and procedures inside the department. Trained new junior engineers and interns with quality of service and technical knowledge improvement as main focus. Dealt with quality related problem during the handling of support issues, ensuring that deadlines, response time, quality and SLA requirements were always met.

Investigated and fixed support issues on MySQL, MySQL Cluster (NDB), MariaDB, Drizzle, Amazon's Relational Database Service (RDS), Percona XtraBackup, Percona Toolkit, Percona Server y Percona XtraDB Cluster. Handled emergencies, normal issue's dispatch and 24x7 call/chat assistance. Mentored and trained new colleagues.

Specialised in SMTP, Web, virtualization, monitorization and security. Installed and administered different services for customers, providing load balancing and HA to the most critical ones. Supported the shared hosting service of Irontec. Provided training and consultancy about free software technologies.
Kider: Dec/2003 - April/2007
Hardware maintenance, installation and configuration of software on Windows (Office and CAD Software) and Linux (e-mail, security and database services). Deployed intrusion detector solutions (Snort). Provided technical support (also remotely) to users and delegation's employees.
